Die Fondazione Giorgio Cini ist ein internationales Kulturzentrum, das einen Gro\u00dfteil der Insel San Giorgio Maggiore in Venedig f\u00fcr sich beansprucht. \u201eMit knapp 4000 Quadratmetern Fl\u00e4che wird diese Ausstellung \u201eHomo Faber\u201c die gr\u00f6\u00dfte jemals in der Fondazione Giorgio Cini organisierte Veranstaltung sein und dem Publikum Gelegenheit bieten, eine Reihe von R\u00e4umen kennen zu lernen, die sonst nicht \u00f6ffentlich zug\u00e4nglich sind\u201c, hei\u00dft es aus Genf.<\/p>\n

Zum Ausstellungs-Team von Homo Faber geh\u00f6ren Michele de Lucchi, Stefano Boeri, India Mahdavi, Judith Clark, Jean Blanchaert und Stefano Micelli. Die Ausstellung soll \u201edie besten Kunsthandwerker Europas\u201c ins Rampenlicht r\u00fccken und den Besuchern ein einmaliges, denkw\u00fcrdiges Erlebnis bieten. Das Spektrum reiche von der Juwelierkunst bis zu legend\u00e4ren Fahrr\u00e4dern und zeige Fertigkeiten, die vom Aussterben bedroht sind, bis hin zu einigen der begehrtesten St\u00fccke des europ\u00e4ischen Designs. Die Besucher k\u00f6nnen mit den Handwerkern sprechen und die Werkstatt der Meister virtuell betreten. Au\u00dferdem sind Restauratoren bei der Arbeit zu beobachten. \u201eWir haben uns bei dieser Ausstellung f\u00fcr Venedig entschieden, nicht nur weil es sich hier um eine Hochburg der Kultur und einen Ort von unvergleichlicher Sch\u00f6nheit handelt,\u201c so Franco Cologni, Mitbegr\u00fcnder der Michelangelo Foundation, \u201esondern auch, weil Venedig heute und seit jeher eine europ\u00e4ische Drehscheibe des Austausches und der internationalen Verbindungen ist.\u201c<\/p>\n

Homo Faber findet w\u00e4hrend der Architekturbiennale von Venedig statt und stelle ein wichtiges Zusatzangebot f\u00fcr weltweite Trendsetter und Meinungsbildner dar. \u201eHomo Faber ist ein Ausdruck, der erstmals in der Renaissance gepr\u00e4gt wurde. Er erfasst und honoriert die unendliche Kreativit\u00e4t des Menschen,\u201c erkl\u00e4rt Johann Rupert, Mitbegr\u00fcnder der Michelangelo Foundation. \u201eDie Ausstellung wird ein Panorama des europ\u00e4ischen Kunsthandwerks bieten und dabei einen unverwechselbaren Unterton aufweisen: Was Menschen besser k\u00f6nnen als Maschinen.“<\/p>\n

Johann Rupert ist Chairman der Compagnie Financi\u00e8re Richemont, der in der Schweiz ans\u00e4ssigen Luxusgruppe, zu der Marken wie Cartier, IWC und A. Lange & S\u00f6hne geh\u00f6ren. Er hat zusammen mit Franco Cologni, seit 2002 Vorstandsmitglied von Richemont, die Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship gegr\u00fcndet. Die gemeinn\u00fctzige Institution mit Sitz in Genf m\u00f6chte nach eigenen Worten, \u201edas Kunsthandwerk\u00a0honorieren und erhalten und seine Verbindungen zur Welt des Design st\u00e4rken.\u201c Die Stiftung hat sich das Ziel gesetzt, \u201eMenschen zu unterst\u00fctzen, die sich dem Streben nach hoher Handwerkskunst verschrieben haben.
